Introduction

The goal of the project was to design an efficient banking platform. Aside from managing finances, making balance transfers are fast but dependable, and allows users to securely transfer money between accounts or to other people.

Objective

  • Conceptualize a banking platform that allows users to make fast and safe transfers where it is between accounts or to other people.

  • Make an inviting landing page that attracts users to use the banking website

  • Streamline navigation to promote efficiency and a comfortable banking experience

Research

Surveys were conducted to find out why people prefer either banking apps or websites and what the pros and cons of both banking apps and websites are.

Synthesis

  • People who participated in this survey were in the age range of 20-29 years old.

  • The majority of people preferred banking apps over banking websites because apps are convenient and easier to use.

  • People use banking websites because it is easier to see everything and seems more safe and secure compared to banking apps.

Pain Points

  • The majority of people felt that banking websites offer/show too many features

  • Banking websites are often cluttered with information and complex to navigate

  • With banking websites, processes take longer and are inefficient compared to banking apps

User Flow

It was a fresh new experience designing a banking platform because it was my first time designing something that has to do with fintech. From conducting interviews, I found that users want simplicity when it comes to banking, which broke my initial bias that banking had to be interactive and interesting. Unfortunately, I was not able to design all features within Pedal due to time constraints, but in the future, I would be interested in designing a few main features and an app version of Pedal.
